ADN Madeira has once again put forward proposals for the creation of a maritime connection between Madeira and the mainland, deepening an initiative already presented on August 31. The political formation led by Maíza Fernandes now advocates for a model that allows more flexible use of the ferry's cargo capacity.
The proposed model is based on the 75/25 proportion, which will be adapted to respond to seasonal variations in demand. During periods with fewer passengers and private vehicles, part of the ferry's available capacity may be redirected for other purposes.
This approach aims to ensure the economic viability of the maritime connection throughout the year, not just during the high season. ADN believes that flexibility in managing the ferry's spaces is essential to make the service sustainable and attractive to operators.
