The Territorial Command of Castelo Branco, through the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) of Fundão, carried out an inspection operation together with the veterinary medical services of the Municipality of Penamacor. The operation took place within the scope of the prevention and combat of abandonment of companion animals.
The inspection essentially aimed at verifying the housing and handling conditions of companion animals in the region. During the operation, the authorities managed to detect a crime of animal abandonment.
In addition to the abandonment crime identified, several infractions related to companion animals were also recorded. The action demonstrates the commitment of the authorities to inspect and ensure compliance with animal protection regulations in the district of Castelo Branco.
