Youth participation in loans jumps from 1.8% to 13.3%

oglobo11 September 2026 at 15:26

Young people aged 18 to 25 recorded the highest growth in personal loan contract participation on the Juros Baixos platform. Between January 2025 and March 2026, the participation of this age group jumped from 1.8% to 13.3% of total contracts, representing the highest increase among all age groups analyzed by the Juros Baixos Loan Index.

Brazilians aged 26 to 45 continue to concentrate most of the personal loan contracts on the platform. In the other age groups, changes were more moderate. Consumers aged 55 to 65 remained close to 10% of contracts, while those over 65 fluctuated between 2% and 3%.

Despite the lower numerical participation, the group over 65 requested higher-value loans, which shows differences in financial behavior between age groups. This difference, combined with the significant advance of young people, shows a change in the composition of credit consumers over the period analyzed.

The average loan amount requested fell 26% during the period, indicating a possible change in consumption habits and the search for credit among Brazilians.

Neither Algarve, nor Madeira: the "Portuguese Bali" is in the North and less than 1 hour from Porto

Bamboo & Coconut, a space located on the banks of the Cávado river in Amares, Braga district, less than an hour from Porto, has become a well-known summer destination dubbed the "Portuguese Bali" due to its tropical environment with palm trees, bamboo, and lounge chairs. The space, part of Quinta Lago dos Cisnes and founded in 1993 as a small bar, has grown and now includes the Bamboo Lounge for cocktails and snacks, the restaurant The Coconut House with Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, a boutique, and activities such as yoga classes and workshops. A particular feature is that the structures are dismantled at the end of the season due to winter floods and rebuilt before summer. Entry may require a minimum consumption of around 15 euros, and although located by the river, it does not have lifeguard supervision.

Daniel Vorcaro moved US$ 89.6 million in the Bahamas in two years, Coaf report indicates

Banker Daniel Vorcaro moved US$ 89.6 million (approximately R$ 455 million) in the Bahamas between January 2024 and December 2025, according to a Coaf report. The Bahamas are considered a tax haven for facilitating the opening of companies without identifying the real beneficiary and having less rigorous rules to combat money laundering. Vorcaro was initially arrested in November 2025 and released in the same month, being detained again in March 2026. The transactions include values received and transferred related to trips and hiring artists, among other expenses. Coaf, an agency linked to the Central Bank, is responsible for notifying agencies such as the Federal Police and the Federal Public Ministry about suspicious transactions.
