"Incredible progress": 682 billion euros to make the Mediterranean a renewable powerhouse

An investment of 682 billion euros was announced to transform the Mediterranean into a renewable energy powerhouse. This value represents a significant milestone in the region's sustainable development.

The large-scale solar and wind energy projects total more than 552 GW under development across the Mediterranean region. This installed capacity represents a qualitative leap in clean energy production.

The implementation pace was described as "incredible progress" by industry analysts. The solar and wind potential of the Mediterranean region is attracting massive investments from companies and governments.

The development of these projects positions the Mediterranean as a strategic hub for renewable energy in Europe and North Africa, contributing to decarbonization and energy independence objectives.
