Banker Daniel Vorcaro moved US$ 89.6 million, equivalent to R$ 455 million, in financial transactions in the Bahamas over two years, according to a report from the Council for Financial Activities Control (Coaf). The movements occurred between January 11, 2024 and December 29, 2025. Coaf is an agency linked to the Central Bank responsible for identifying suspicious transactions and informing agencies such as the Federal Police and the Federal Public Ministry.
The Bahamas are considered a tax haven for facilitating the opening of companies without identifying the real beneficiary and for having less rigorous rules to combat money laundering. According to the document, the transactions include values received and transferred related to trips and hiring artists, among other expenses.
Vorcaro was arrested for the first time on November 17 of last year and released at the end of that same month. He was detained again in March 2026. The Coaf report points to the million-dollar movements in the Bahamas as part of the investigations that led to the banker's arrests.
