Former state deputy Thiago Raimundo de Oliveira Santos, known as TH Jóias, will be transferred to a federal penitentiary. The decision was made by the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region (TRF2), which on Thursday received the Federal Public Ministry's denunciation against the former parliamentarian and four other accused of being part of a criminal organization linked to Comando Vermelho.
With the court's decision, the five became defendants for crimes such as corruption, drug and arms trafficking, and smuggling. Besides TH Jóias, the defendants are Gabriel Dias de Oliveira, known as Índio, Luiz Eduardo Cunha Gonçalves, aka Dudu, former state secretary Alessandro Pitombeira Carracena, and Federal Police delegate Gustavo Stteel.
The group was targeted by the operation in which authorities identified the suspects' links with Comando Vermelho, a criminal faction active in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The transfer of TH Jóias to federal prison occurs amid the criminal proceedings against him and his four co-accused.
