Faro integrates support project for informal caregivers from the Red Cross

Barlavento11 September 2026 at 15:53

The Municipality of Faro has now joined the Info.Cuidador 2.0 project, an initiative promoted by the Portuguese Red Cross that aims to support informal caregivers. This project provides multidisciplinary support, digital tools, and continuous monitoring to people who provide informal care to family members or other close people.

The Info.Cuidador 2.0 comes as a response to the growing needs for support for informal caregivers, offering practical resources and specialized assistance for those who care for others. Through this partnership, Faro now benefits from a set of services aimed at improving the quality of life of both caregivers and the people receiving care.

This integration allows the municipality of Faro to have access to a structured support program, which includes monitoring by professionals from different areas. The main objective is to provide informal caregivers with the tools and support necessary to deal with the daily challenges of the caregiving activity.

PSP prevented from expelling cadet who published images of an LGBT flag on fire

The Supreme Administrative Court annulled the PSP's decision to expel a cadet who published images of an LGBT flag on fire and messages from Group 1143. The court considered that the publication of the images occurred before the young man joined the officers' course, which was decisive for the expulsion being revoked. The ruling, written by the reporting judge, cites Marcelo Caetano, the last President of the Council of Ministers of the Estado Novo regime, as the basis for the decision.
