The Chega party questioned the Government about the lack of hematologists in the Baixo Alentejo and Algarve regions. The political formation considered that there is a "concerning insufficiency" of specialists in these areas of the country.
According to the party, there are only two female hematologist doctors covering these regions, one working in Beja and another in Portimão. This shortage of professionals raises questions about the access of residents in these areas to specialized healthcare in the field of hematology.
Chega also criticized the non-assignment of "underserved vacancies" for these specialties, suggesting that the Executive should prioritize the hiring of doctors for the most underserved areas of the country. The party believes this situation compromises the quality of healthcare provided to the population of these regions.
