Chega party demanded answers from the Government regarding the situation of the Hematology specialty in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo. The political force questioned the Ministry of Health about the number of specialists in the region, the types of existing contracts, and the absence of underserved positions in these areas of the country.
Chega expressed particular interest in knowing the number of professionals assigned to the hospitals of Beja and Portimão, as well as the nature of their employment contracts. The party intends to obtain detailed information about the clinical response capacity of these health units.
The lack of specialist doctors in Hematology in these regions of southern Portugal has been raising concerns about patients' access to specialized healthcare in this clinical area. The party wants to understand how the Ministry of Health is addressing these healthcare gaps.
