The former president of Lourosa Fire Brigade remained silent at the start of the trial in which he is accused of three crimes of abuse of power. The defendant did not make any statements during the initial session of the proceedings.
According to the prosecution, the former president allegedly diverted two men who were supposed to perform community service at the fire station. Instead, the individuals were forced to carry out work at the defendant's home and also at a factory.
One of the affected men confirmed in court the facts alleged by the prosecution, according to information from the newspaper Correio da Manhã. The trial continues.
