The GNR seized over 7,000 litres of gasoline and a vessel near the Almargem and Gaivota beaches in Quarteira. The operation resulted in the seizure of a semi-rigid vessel, 291 jerry cans containing approximately 7,275 litres of gasoline, a surveillance camera and mechanical equipment.
The action was carried out by the Coastal and Border Control Unit, through the Olhão Coastal Control Detachment, with the reinforcement of military personnel from the Faro Territorial Command. The operation took place as part of a coastal surveillance and control action.
The GNR detected suspicious movements and a high-speed vessel in the area, and land, maritime, and aerial resources were deployed to monitor and intercept the detected movements.
