The academic association Criactividade proposed more than a month of alternative events to hazing in Coimbra. The program, sent to the news agency Lus, includes diverse cultural and social activities that aim to offer alternatives to the traditional rituals of welcoming new students.
Among the proposed activities are literary salons, conversations, album listening sessions, theater and cooking workshops, and a fair. These activities seek to create spaces for socializing and integration in a different way from traditional hazing practices.
The complete program covers a period of more than a month, allowing university students to get to know each other and participate in diversified activities during the beginning of the academic year.
The initiative arises in the context of Coimbra's academic tradition, where the welcoming rituals for new students have been the subject of debate, with various groups proposing more inclusive and cultural alternatives.
