IVDP organizes music festival

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes11 September 2026 at 13:41

The Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto (IVDP) announced the holding of the "Porto Blend" music festival, which will take place on September 10 and 11, 2027, in collaboration with the Porto City Council. The event will be spread across various locations in the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, aiming to reach a younger audience in a relaxed environment, as revealed by Gilberto Igrejas, president of IVDP.

The festival aims to simplify the image of port wine, showing how this drink can be enjoyed in more informal contexts. The "Porto Blend" will bring together different musical styles, art, culture and gastronomy, creating an eclectic environment for the presentation of the region's wines. Gilberto Igrejas highlighted that the diversity of spaces will host the activities, stating: "It will be a festival that will not have just one location."

IVDP has been participating in previous festivals as a promotion strategy, namely at Porto Cocktails in Vilar de Mouros and at the Douro e Porto Wine Festival in Lamego. Igrejas noted that "this type of festival brings the public closer and through the path of regulated and moderate consumption," encouraging responsible consumption of the region's wines.

When asked whether the announcement of the festival aims to boost port wine sales, which fell by 10.2% in the first half of 2026, Gilberto Igrejas clarified that the focus of the presentation was to celebrate the best results of 2026.
