A speedboat was found stranded on Moledo beach, in Caminha. The alert was given around 00:00 by locals who spotted the vessel on the sand.
According to the commander of the Maritime Police of Caminha, Fernando Pereira, the speedboat was not carrying narcotics at the time it was discovered.
However, Fernando Pereira noted that this type of vessel is typically associated with drug trafficking, even though it did not have illegal cargo on board.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances under which the speedboat became stranded on the beach.
