Sócrates says it was Passos Coelho's Government that helped Grupo Lena in the Venezuela deal

José Sócrates returned this Thursday to the Operation Marquês trial to give testimony. During his intervention, the former prime minister stated that it was Pedro Passos Coelho's Government, through Paulo Portas, that helped Grupo Lena complete a housing deal in Venezuela.

Sócrates also directed criticism again at the court and the Public Ministry, continuing a stance he had already adopted in previous sessions of the trial.

The Operation Marquês trial involves charges of corruption, tax fraud, and money laundering, with the former prime minister as one of the main defendants in the case. Grupo Lena's deal in Venezuela has been one of the topics addressed in the trial sessions.
