The Republican National Guard (GNR) today launched the "Safe School" campaign for the 2026/2027 school year, covering the entire Portuguese continental territory.
The operation covers more than 4,400 educational establishments and approximately 670,000 students, being one of the largest school security initiatives in Portugal.
The main objective of the campaign is to promote self-protection behaviors and prevent risk situations among the school community, aimed at students, teachers, and parents.
The GNR will develop work with schools through this operation, which aims to reinforce security and awareness in the school environment during the school year.
