The Municipality of Albufeira promoted an initiative dedicated to welcoming the educational community and integrating recently arrived teachers to the municipality, yesterday, to mark the start of the 2026/2027 school year.
The program included a musical performance by teacher Barbara Scheffs-Endres, from the Conservatory, on piano, accompanied by student Rita Frias, on violin. This was followed by interventions by councilor Maria Cristina Corado and the mayor, Rui Cristina, on welcoming teachers and the challenges of the new school year.
Rui Cristina placed education at the center of the executive's priorities, stating that "there is no future for Albufeira without a strong education". The mayor also advocated for a public school with better conditions, close to families and capable of preparing the next generations.
The event continued with a lunch at Centro Educativo Cerro d'Ouro and ended with a sunset at Jardim Frutuoso Silva. For recently arrived teachers, the meeting was an opportunity to better know the municipality and build connections with the local educational community.
