The smell of bread just out of the oven is one of the first business cards for anyone entering FAGIC, the traditional agricultural festival of Montemor-o-Velho. The secret lies in the bread with chorizo, a delicacy that has become the hallmark of the event.

The Noronha couple, natives of Montemor-o-Velho, are responsible for this tradition that has now lasted 25 years. Over more than two decades, they have been winning over visitors with this recipe that combines the aroma of fresh bread with the intense flavor of chorizo roasted in the oven.

Ten years of wines bring music, gastronomy and workshops to Morgado do Quintão in Lagoa

Morgado do Quintão, in Lagoa, celebrates on September 26th the ten years of its first wines with another edition of Open House, an event that opens the property to the public with a programme dedicated to wine, gastronomy, music and cultural activities. This year's edition features greater community participation through an open call for musicians and an invitation to volunteers, taking on a more collective character. The programme includes tastings guided by new winemaker Mariana Salvador, dishes from guest chef João Viegas, and music throughout the day covering DJ, jazz, fado, samba and live bands. Yoga, writing, painting, candle-making workshops and gastronomic experiences, such as oysters from Ria de Alvor and artisanal vinegars, complete the event's offering.
