Sacha Baron Cohen, known for films like "Borat" (2006) and "The Dictator" (2012), will make his debut on the British stage playing the lead role in "The Popinjay Cavalier," the first play written by filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
The comedy, which opens in London in 2027, is described as a vibrant tale of deceits and disguises, inspired by the great swashbuckling epics of classical theater. The story is set in Europe in the 1830s and promises to be a celebration of theater with Tarantino's characteristic style and unmistakable wit.
The production is by Sonia Friedman Productions, known for delivering successful theatrical productions, thus ensuring the quality of the show that will mark Tarantino's entry into the theatrical universe.
