Águas do Centro Litoral (AdCL) will invest 5.5 million euros to make infrastructure in the Lis river basin resilient. The investment comes in response to problems identified in the region that require urgent interventions.
The president of AdCL stated that the company has observed that the bed of the Lis river is excavating certain banks more rapidly. This accelerated erosion represents a significant risk to existing infrastructure in the area.
According to the official, this situation may be related to a continuation of harsh winters. Adverse climatic conditions have been worsening the erosion phenomenon on the river banks, requiring intervention measures.
The 5.5 million euro investment aims precisely to reinforce the protection of infrastructure and mitigate the effects of accelerated erosion in the Lis basin, ensuring greater resilience against extreme weather conditions.
