A 71-year-old man, reported missing, was located by GNR during the early morning of Thursday, September 10, in a parish in the municipality of Évora. The alert was given by his wife at 03:40, and the Territorial Command of Évora, through the Évora Territorial Post, immediately launched several efforts to find the man.

The information that the citizen had his mobile phone with him proved decisive for the operation. The military made several attempts to contact him by phone to identify the location of the device.

About 40 minutes later, at 04:20, the man was located through the sound of his phone ringing, in an area near his property. When found, the citizen was lying down and unconscious, and rescue services were immediately called.

After receiving assistance on site, the man was transported to the Hospital do Espírito Santo, in Évora. The quick action of the military allowed the man to be located less than an hour after the report of the disappearance.
