PSP detects unlicensed car repair workshop in Cabra Figa

Correio de Sintra10 September 2026 at 16:41

An inspection operation carried out on Thursday, September 10, at a workshop located in Cabra Figa, in the parish of Rio de Mouro, in Sintra, detected several irregularities in the operation of an unlicensed car repair activity. The action was promoted by the PSP, through Sintra Police Division and the Environmental Protection Brigade, in coordination with Sintra Municipal Police and the Tax and Customs Authority, based on information about the alleged operation of the activity without compliance with legal requirements.

The authorities verified on-site the lack of documentation proving the regular start of activity. Regarding fire safety, the establishment only had an extinguisher with an expired validity date, without other adequate self-protection measures.

The Environmental Protection Brigade also detected environmental situations, including the lack of environmental insurance and applicable environmental permit, as well as signs of vehicle washing on the premises with possible inadequate routing of wastewater and waste to the public road. The Municipal Police also identified administrative and urban irregularities, such as the lack of prior communication for the exercise of the activity and the use of an adjacent construction as a dwelling, where a foreign citizen with valid documentation resided.

The operation resulted in the filing of several violation reports for administrative offenses, namely by the Tax and Customs Authority regarding invoicing obligations. Investigations are underway to collect and analyze documentation, and new proceedings may be initiated if other infractions are confirmed.
