The prosecutor's office warns of the proliferation of organized gangs that take advantage of elderly people

The Attorney General warned in its 2025 Report about the proliferation of organized groups that take advantage of elderly people, especially in property crimes. The warning comes in the assessment of the Barcelona prosecutor's office, which stated it had intensified during the last year the collaboration of the victim protection service with the units of the Mossos d'Esquadra specialized in fraud and repeat offenders. This coordination, it explained, aims for the prosecutor's office to be aware of investigations from the beginning and be able to quickly activate protection measures when members of these criminal gangs are arrested.
