The data from the Road Safety Observatory of the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) reveals different realities between the two districts of the Trás-os-Montes region. Vila Real appears as one of the worst districts in terms of road accidents, while Bragança managed to reduce the number of victims.
In the district of Vila Real, ten dead were recorded on the roads between January 1 and August 23, three more than in the same period of the previous year, representing an increase of 42.9%.
