The film "Dark Horse", a biopic about former President Jair Bolsonaro, had its release postponed until after the elections by distributor Europa Filmes. The company's CEO, Wilson Feitosa, explained that the decision was made following a previous experience with the release of a production about President Lula during an electoral year.
The production is at the center of a controversy involving suspected financing by banker Daniel Vorcaro, of Banco Master. This possible connection to the Master case brought the matter to the Supreme Federal Court (STF), which is investigating the issue in more than one investigative track.
The controversy has been used by allies of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to damage the campaign of PL candidate Bolsonaro, who seeks to distance himself from the matter. The former president's son has begun attributing the responsibility of detailing the expenses of the film production to the production company.
