EU wanted to cut dependence on Russia, but plan is "stagnant": there are countries buying more Russian gas than before the war

Some member countries are currently buying more Russian gas than before the start of the war in Ukraine, which represents a setback relative to the initial objectives of the plan. The main identified barriers include problems in financing projects, difficulties in expanding renewable energy, and slowness in constructing electricity interconnections between member states.
