The PS municipal deputy in Santa Cruz, Leonilde Cassiano, publicly criticized the fact that the suspension of new Local Accommodation applications in the municipality only takes effect from October 19th. The socialist elected official considers that this delay reveals a "lack of strategy and decision-making capacity" on the part of the municipal Executive.
The City Council of Santa Cruz had announced in May that the municipality had reached a thousand establishments registered in the National Local Accommodation Register. Despite this milestone, the local authority allegedly failed to act swiftly to halt new applications, which prompted the criticism from the PS.
Leonilde Cassiano expressed her displeasure through a statement, questioning the Executive's actions and pointing out deficiencies in the management of this matter. The situation raises questions about the local authority's ability to respond to the growth of the local accommodation sector in the municipality.
