The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police ruled out the version presented by Anderson Rodrigues Leite, 54 years old, that he would have tried to rob him. The investigators believe that the kidnapping of the teenager in Engenho Novo, in the North Zone, had sexual motivation as the main hypothesis.

Anderson Rodrigues Leite was arrested on Tuesday in São Pedro da Aldeia, in the Região dos Lagos, at relatives' house. The crime happened last week, when the teenager was returning from school. According to the victim, the suspect said he was armed and ordered her to get into the car he was driving.

During the journey, the young woman managed to escape the kidnapping using pepper spray and jumping from the moving car. The Civil Police is now investigating the real motives behind the kidnapping, believing that sexual motivation is the main line of investigation.
