Viana Bate Forte returns to the historic center of Viana do Castelo on September 11 and 12, with its 9th edition. The event features three stages distributed across Praça da República, Praça da Liberdade and Praça da Erva, which will host 15 artists and bands over two nights, with free-entry concerts.
The lineup includes reference names from Portuguese music, such as Santos & Pecadores, Expensive Soul, UHF, David Fonseca, Lena d'Água, Paulo de Carvalho, Agir, Souls of Fire and Motherflippers, among others. On Friday, the Liberdade Stage hosts Santos & Pecadores, Expensive Soul and Agir, while on Saturday Paulo de Carvalho, UHF and David Fonseca perform.
The event is promoted by the City Council of Viana do Castelo since 2016 and aims to bring different audiences to the historic center of the city through a diverse musical program. The initiative focuses especially on national artists, while also highlighting musicians and bands from Viana and new talents, combining already recognized names with artists in the affirmation phase.
With concerts distributed across different urban spaces, Viana Bate Forte also seeks to revitalize local streets, commerce and restaurants, having the historical and architectural heritage of Viana do Castelo as its backdrop.
