The Kayzer Ballet, a dance company based in Covilhã, was invited by the President of the Republic, António José Seguro, to present their work at the Palace of Belém in Lisbon. The Covilhã-based company will present the piece "SOSEEATI" on the 18th, created by Ricardo Runa, artistic director and choreographer of the Kayzer Ballet.
According to the company, the invitation represents not only recognition of the Kayzer Ballet's artistic journey, but also an important sign of appreciation for work developed outside the major urban and cultural centers of the country.
The Kayzer Ballet was founded with the mission of creating professional opportunities for young dancers and bringing artistic programming of national and international scope to the Interior of the country, working with some of the most renowned creators of international contemporary dance. The presence at the Palace of Belém holds special significance for the company, representing the journey from the Interior to the center of the country's institutional representation.
For Ricardo Runa, the invitation is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of cultural decentralization, showing that it is possible to create and develop excellent projects from the Interior. The choreographer stated that Covilhã is not just the place where they work, but is part of the company's identity, intending that dancers can build their professional careers there and that audiences can have access to high-quality dance from the Interior as well.
