"Condor" Tuna Boat to Transport Nossa Senhora da Piedade

The "Condor" tuna boat was chosen, by lottery, to transport the image of Nossa Senhora da Piedade during the traditional festivities in her honor. The vessel will have the honor of leading the maritime procession, followed by numerous decorated boats, in a manifestation of faith that brings together fishermen, families and devotees from the fishing community of Caniçal, in Madeira. The tradition dictates that the boat that transports the image is drawn among the largest vessels, keeping alive one of the most emblematic religious and maritime traditions of the region.
