The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho defined the creation of a new crossing over the River Minho as one of the priorities for the ten municipalities in the region. The bridge will link Caminha, in Portugal, to A Guarda, in Galicia, establishing a new cross-border connection between the two countries.
The proposal was presented at a press conference by CIM Alto Minho, which identified the need to improve accessibility in the region. The main objective of this infrastructure is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Alto Minho territory.
With this new crossing, the aim is to facilitate circulation between the two banks of the River Minho and enhance the economic and social development of the border region. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity in the Alto Minho territory.
