On the way to elections, Netanyahu is going to sue a newspaper

Observador9 September 2026 at 11:45

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that he will sue the Haaretz newspaper, according to the publication itself reported. The decision comes at a time when Israel is approaching elections.

Haaretz revealed that Netanyahu was allegedly warned about the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, but did not pass that information to Israeli security authorities. The news generated strong controversy in the country.

The case will now go to court, where both parties are expected to present their positions. The lawsuit arises in a context of high political tension in Israel.

The prime minister and his supporters have accused Haaretz of playing political games by publishing this information, while the newspaper defends its right to report on matters of public interest.
