The shipwreck of a vessel off Troia, in 2024, caused four deaths and is now being tried at the Setúbal Court. The only defendant in the case is Mário Coelho, identified as the helmsman of the vessel involved in the accident.

In the first session of the trial, held on Monday, several prosecution witnesses gave testimony. They stated that the area where the accident occurred was dangerous, given the sea conditions recorded that day.

Mário Coelho, the only defendant in the case, was present at the court but remained silent, not making any statements during this first session of the trial. The case continues to be heard at the Setúbal Court.
