Six municipalities in Faro district are classified with maximum fire danger. This classification represents the highest level of the risk scale adopted by Portuguese authorities for rural fires.
Rural fire danger will remain very high in some regions of the country at least until Monday. This situation is due to meteorological conditions favorable to the occurrence and spread of fires.
Authorities are appealing to the population for increased vigilance in the most vulnerable areas. It is recommended that activities that may cause ignitions outdoors be avoided during this period.
