Pedro Duarte, a councilman and his successor or colleague at the city hall, highlighted Nuno Cardoso's devotion throughout his entire political life. In his words, Nuno Cardoso demonstrated "devotion until the last minute to our city," underscoring the legacy of dedication to the public cause.

The Lapa Church, one of the most emblematic temples in the city, served as the setting for this farewell, reflecting Nuno Cardoso's importance to Porto and the regard the community held for him.
