Liposuction remains among the most performed aesthetic surgical procedures in the world. According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Brazil holds the first worldwide position in the number of aesthetic plastic surgeries, with 289,766 recorded liposuctions, corresponding to 12.3% of aesthetic surgeries performed in the country.
High-definition liposuction, known as Lipo HD, differs from conventional liposuction by working more selectively on fat deposits, seeking to highlight certain anatomical landmarks. The technique can act on the superficial and deep layers of adipose tissue to create transitions between regions of greater and lesser projection.
The goal of Lipo HD is to highlight contours that are already part of the patient's anatomy, and not to create artificial structures. The plastic surgeon explains that the technique seeks to enhance muscular definition and the natural contours of the body, different from what many imagine about artificial results.
The increase in demand for the procedure expands the discussion about the different levels of definition that can be achieved with the technique, raising questions about the naturalness or artificiality of the results obtained.
