Two agents of the Public Security Police from Olhão are being tried at the Faro Court, accused of kidnapping and killing a Moroccan man in March 2024. The defendants deny any responsibility for the victim's death during the trial.
The case involves an investigation that began after an alert from the National Republican Guard. However, the Judicial Police refused to investigate the Moroccan immigrant's death after receiving this alert from the military authorities.
The two police officers are specifically accused of kidnapping and homicide. During the trial, the defendants' lawyers argued that there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate their involvement in the Moroccan man's death.
The trial is taking place at the Faro Judicial Court, where authorities continue to analyze the circumstances that led to the immigrant's death. The Public Prosecutor's Office maintains the accusation against the two PSP agents from Olhão.
