DGArtes: Creation and Programming Support reaches 99 projects. Seven are in Alentejo

The Directorate-General for Arts (DGArtes) Creation and Programming Support Competition – Disciplinary Crossroads for 2025 supported 99 artistic projects totaling 2,455,000 euros. Of the 283 applications received, 108 were left without support, with 95 not receiving funding due to exhaustion of the available budget and 13 excluded for falling below the required minimum score of 60%.

Of the supported projects, 71 belong to the Creation domain and 28 to Programming. Geographically, the Centro region was the most benefited with 30 projects, followed by Greater Lisbon with 27 and the North with 21. Alentejo has seven supported projects, the Algarve has three, the Setúbal Peninsula has two, the Azores has three, and Madeira has one.

The DGArtes 2025 Project Support Program has a total allocation of 13.35 million euros, the same value as in previous years. The application deadline, initially until March 12, was extended until April 2 due to bad weather affecting the artistic sector, mainly in the Centro region.

Representative organizations in the Culture sector have been frequently warning about delays in opening the competitions and the underfunding of the area. This situation is not exclusive to this competition, with similar results also recorded in the Internationalization competitions, with 115 projects supported but 41 without support due to lack of funds, and in the Programming competition, where 71 projects were supported and 110 remained without funding despite having a score above 60%.

Gas price in Europe hits three-year highs due to Middle East conflict

Parpública confirms State entry into REN

Parpública confirmed that the Portuguese State now holds 13.7% of REN, after completing the acquisition of 91.7 million shares in the company responsible for the national electricity and gas networks. The operation, agreed on August 14, was completed after the departure of Pontegadea Inversiones, the investment company of the owner of Zara, making the Portuguese State a reference shareholder with a qualified stake exceeding both the 5% and 10% thresholds of voting rights.
