Four friends bet on a new Alvarinho sparkling wine

Alto Minho TV8 September 2026 at 20:30

Four friends, identified as David, Henrique, Paulo and Nuno, recently launched a new sparkling wine made from the Alvarinho grape variety. This project comes after the success the same friends had already achieved with gin and wine, continuing a vision that was at the origin of the brand and that began to be developed several years ago.

The sparkling wine stands out for its fine and persistent bubble, its freshness, and, above all, for its connection to the history and culture of the region. This new product thus represents not only an expansion of the four friends' portfolio, but also a celebration of traditions and local identity.

As happened in 2025, this year's harvests began in August, but according to the article, this anticipation had no negative impact on the quality of the sparkling wine produced.

The group of four friends expressed the intention to continue growing and expanding the brand into new markets, always maintaining its roots and connection to the region that gave it origin.

Portugal joins United Kingdom and ten other countries that will ban trade with Israeli settlements

Portugal joined 11 other countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Ireland, in a coordinated sanctions action against illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, prohibiting the import of goods produced in these territories. The United Kingdom officially declared that the Israeli occupation in the West Bank is illegal under international law, with the British Foreign Secretary, Ed Miliband, accusing Israel of attempting "ethnic cleansing" against Palestinians. Israel responded by announcing the closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem and excluding the United Kingdom from the US-led mission to Gaza, with Minister Gideon Saar accusing the British of "scandalous lies". The joint statement from the 12 countries alerts to the deterioration of the situation in the West Bank, with unprecedented levels of settler violence and settlement expansion, calling on Israel to cease these practices. The sanctions also include restrictions on financing services for expansion, sanctions on violent individuals and review of weapons exports.
