Cantanhede Firefighters Call on Population for an Afternoon of Solidarity

The Cantanhede Volunteer Firefighters will hold, on September 20, the X Solidarity Walk, an initiative that aims to raise funds to support the institution. This is the tenth edition of the event, which counts on the involvement of the local population. The firefighters are calling on the participation of all citizens in the afternoon of solidarity.

Chanttal Mendez, a young Luso-Venezuelan born and raised in Caracas until the age of 10, moved with her family to Aveiro, Portugal, motivated by her maternal grandmother's Portuguese roots. Currently studying International Relations at Universidade Lusíada do Porto, Chanttal combines the preservation of Venezuelan customs in her daily life – such as food, music, and language – with Portuguese habits, describing it as a "very beautiful mixture" between both cultures. Her journey in beauty pageants includes titles such as Miss Teen Aveiro 2023 and, more recently, Miss Aura Portugal, which she intends to use as a platform for social projects and one day to represent Portugal in an international competition.

The United States Government today included the entire Iranian aviation sector on its blacklist, threatening to sanction any organization that works with Iranian airlines.
