Plastic surgeon Rodrigo Ribeiro Credidio had his medical practice suspended by decision of the 26th Civil Court of the District of Belo Horizonte. The suspension was determined this Tuesday (8) on an emergency basis, within a public civil action filed by the Public Defender's Office of Minas Gerais.
Credidio is being investigated by the Civil Police of Minas Gerais under suspicion of medical error related to the death of public servant Norma Eduarda da Fonseca, 59 years old. The patient died after undergoing a plastic procedure at the doctor's clinic, according to reports previously published.
The public civil action was filed by the Public Defender's Office of Minas Gerais against Credidio Plastic Surgery and Nutrology Clinic Ltda. and against the doctor himself, who is the owner and technical director of the establishment. Justice granted the request for emergency relief to suspend the professional.
In addition to the suspension of Credidio's professional practice, the judicial order requires the clinic to replace him as technical director and inform, within 15 days, the name and registration of the new responsible party with the Regional Council of Medicine.
