The Mediterranean Diet Fair ended in Tavira after four days of programming dedicated to heritage, culture, gastronomy and ways of life associated with the various geographies of the Mediterranean. Thousands of visitors passed through the historic center of the city, which hosted activities in streets, squares, plazas, gardens and cultural facilities, with proposals aimed at various audiences.
This year's edition brought together more than 200 exhibitors, including producers, artisans, associations and institutions, which gave visibility to local products, traditional knowledge and practices associated with the Mediterranean Diet. The program included dozens of activities, such as exhibitions, book launches, seminars, conferences, workshops, culinary demonstrations, health and physical activity initiatives, family proposals, music, dance and theater.
The Tavira municipality highlights the presence of cultures, traditions and knowledge from different Mediterranean territories, in a meeting that sought to reinforce intercultural dialogue and the transmission of knowledge between communities and generations. The organization considers that the distribution of activities across different spaces in the city helped bring culture closer to public space and reach audiences of various ages and backgrounds.
In the assessment of the edition, the Municipality of Tavira emphasized not only the scale of attendance, but also the collective effort of municipal workers, partner entities, producers, artists, researchers and volunteers involved in the organization. The next edition of the Mediterranean Diet Fair is scheduled for September 2027.
