Between September 1st and 5th, the Regufe Youth Group carried out a trip to the interior of the Algarve with 14 participating young people. The initiative, supported by the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, had as its destination Alcoutim, an Algarve municipality marked by rurality and one of the lowest birth rates in Portugal. The experience included contact with nature, moments of digital detox and fellowship among participants.

The activity was coordinated by Sérgio Ferraz and Letícia Maciel, who chose Alcoutim for its singular identity as a small territory and profoundly marked by the interior of the Algarve. For the young people, coming from Póvoa de Varzim, it was an opportunity to know a way of life distinct from the urban daily life they know.

The group was accommodated at the Youth Hostel of Alcoutim and explored the streets, gastronomy and cultural heritage of the municipality. Neighboring localities such as Ayamonte, Vila Real de Santo António and Monte Gordo were also visited, expanding the participants' knowledge about different communities and social dynamics of the south of the country.

The trip is part of a cooperation protocol between the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and the Regufe Youth Group, which has enabled the dynamization of youth participation and training projects in the region.
