The 8th edition of Monção e Melgaço Granfondo takes place on September 19th and 20th, starting and ending in Monção. This competition challenges participants to cycle through a territory that includes mountains, rivers, heritage and Alvarinho vineyards.
The event offers three distinct routes: Minifondo with 57 km, Mediofondo with 93 km and Granfondo with 123 km, all united by the passion for cycling. For the younger ones, there is a dedicated stage on Saturday, September 19th, with prizes for all participants and difficulties adapted to the children's ages, departing at 5 PM from Largo da Estação in Monção, with registration being free but mandatory.
For those who prefer activities without a bicycle, there is also a walking tour on Sunday, September 20th, at 9:15 AM, departing from the same location, with a registration fee of 7 euros and accompaniment by a tourist guide throughout the route.
According to the Municipality of Monção, only 200 spots remain for the cycling routes. Registrations can be made through the website bikeservice.pt.
