FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal passed through the press room on the eve of the Champions League match against Feyenoord in Rotterdam. During the press conference, the young player was questioned about the Ballon d'Or and the so-called "campaign" that Real Madrid's coach, José Mourinho, has been making for Kylian Mbappé to win the award.
Lamine Yamal responded forcefully when asked about the possibility of campaigning for the Ballon d'Or. The player, from Rocafonda, stated that he does not believe he needs to make any kind of campaign to win the award, demonstrating confidence in his work throughout the season.
The Barcelona forward said he is proud of what he has achieved and stated that he cannot ask for more than that. In his words, he made it clear that he considers the fight for the Ballon d'Or as the job of journalists and media professionals, not something he should request or beg for.
