Tony Popovic, head coach of the Australian national football team, publicly analyzed Alessandro Circati's transfer from Parma to Benfica during the last transfer window. The young 22-year-old defender has yet to establish himself as a regular starter for the red and white side, which prompted the coach's comments.

The Australian national team coach explained that he judged the move immediately precisely because Circati is not playing regularly. Despite this, Popovic considered the transfer "a fantastic step" and acknowledged that the defender is under pressure, praising his ability to handle that situation. "The boy has broad shoulders. He's going to face the challenge," the coach stated.

Popovic emphasized that establishing oneself at a big European club requires time and daily work in training. The national team coach said that players joining bigger clubs should not be expected to immediately take the place of others, but should rather earn that opportunity through their performance.

Despite wanting Circati to play every minute of every match, Popovic acknowledged the defender's reality at Benfica and expressed understanding for the competitive dynamics of the Portuguese club.
