Benfica appears at the top of a statistical analysis carried out by Opta's supercomputer, which has positioned the red and white team as the main favorite to win the Europa League this season. The mathematical data assigns the Luz club a 13.37% probability of conquering the European competition, placing the Portuguese team ahead of Bournemouth, with 13.11%, and Bayer Leverkusen, with 9.5%.
The analytical model also predicts that Benfica has nearly 66% chances of advancing directly to the round of 16 of the competition. The probability of reaching the quarter-finals is 61%, while the presence in the Frankfurt final is projected at 24%.
The debut of the team coached by Marco Silva is scheduled for September 16th, in a demanding away trip to face Milan, of Pervis Estupiñán. These are followed by matches against Celtic, Omonia, Lech Poznań, Viktoria Plzeň, OFI Creta, NEC Nijmegen, and AZ Alkmaar throughout the league phase of the competition.
