Two Moroccan citizens were found unconscious on a road near Pechão in March 2024. The case initially began as a suspected hit-and-run, but the forensic examinations carried out ruled out that initial theory.
One of the men, aged 26, ultimately died 19 days after being found. The other survived the injuries sustained.
Based on the technical evidence collected, two PSP officers from Olhão were ultimately charged. The Public Prosecutor's Office accused them of committing a homicide offense, significantly altering the nature of the investigation.
The two officers will now stand trial for the crime of homicide, in a case that results from the turnaround provided by the forensic examinations that contradicted the initial version of the facts.
