The European Leagues Association filed a formal accusation against FIFA, classifying the entity's conduct as "abusive". The organization also expressed concern about the risks that this conduct represents for women's football.
According to the association, a detailed and well-founded document was prepared about the questioned practices. This document was formally delivered to the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition, thus giving official progress to the complaint against FIFA.
The accusation arises at a time of tension between FIFA and various European football entities, particularly regarding the international match calendar and the impacts on women's football.
